Few places in the world are as memorable as Italy’s Cinque Terre. This district in Liguria that encompasses five glorious fishing villages is without a doubt one of the most popular tourist destinations in Italy. With its perfectly preserved architecture, series of mountain trails, and steeply terraced cliffs, Cinque Terre oozes charm on every turn.
Walk breathtaking paths along the cliffs, admire the beauty of brightly colored houses, and savor freshly caught seafood at fine dining establishments in the fishing villages of Manarola, Riomaggiore, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso al Mare.Thankfully, there is no car traffic here. Instead, life is lived at a slower pace. You'll travel by train, boat, or foot, or perhaps a mixture of the three. The ambiance and natural beauty are Cinque Terre’s main attractions.
Though similar in many respects, each of the five villages has a story of its own. The largest village, Monterosso is divided into old and new town. The village is perched atop a hill and offers panoramic sea views. See historical attractions such as the 14th-century Loggia del Podestà and the church of San Giovanni Battista or enjoy the town’s picturesque beach with crystal-clear waters. In Manarola, travelers can walk along the waterfront promenade and visit Punta Bonfiglio to enjoy fabulous views.
Cinque Terre's most famous town, Riomaggiore is usually the starting point for exploring over 120 km of trails along the coast. There is also Corniglia, the only town in Cinque Terre without a harbor and direct beach access. The local shere in Corniglia produce fabulous wines such as the Cinque Terre DOC and Pollenza. Our last stop is Vernazza, a village with the most amazing small harbor and elegant architecture. Explore the maze of stairs and tiny terraces dotted with pastel-colored homes and see the Parish House of Saint Mary of Antioch.
This is just a small example of the 100's of tours and activities we can provide throughout Italy.
