The Capital
About

A blend of awe-inspiring art, archeological treasures, and gastronomy makes the Eternal City the world’s most charismatic destination.

As the ancient capital of the Roman Empire, Rome is one of the oldest cities in the world. It's an enchanting city packed with haunting ruins and endless galleries of Renaissance and Baroque art.

Kick off your travel itinerary with a visit to Rome's churches, cathedrals, museums, and art galleries where you will find works by great masters such as Raphael, Bernini, Michelangelo, and Caravaggio.

Explore archeological treasures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, Sistine Chapel, and Roman Forum. The Italian capital is also famous for its leafy parks with panoramic terraces and picturesque piazzas with exquisitely sculpted fountains and statues. Take in Salvi's Trevi Fountain or admire the beauty of Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers in Piazza Navona.

In Rome, ancient treasures and world-renowned art collections happily co-exist with refined restaurants and picturesque street-side cafes. Nestled on the banks of the Tiber River, Travestere is a lovely bohemian district with narrow cobblestone streets dotted with trattorias, craft beer pubs, and artisan shops. First-time visitors can look forward to visiting Campo de' Fiori, a market square and a notable nightlife spot.

Eating out in Rome is a memorable experience. From Michelin-starred dining establishments to family-owned trattorias serving humble pasta dishes and locally made limoncello, the Eternal City is full of places where you can explore neighborhood markets and enjoy the local cuisine.
